What happens

Ranger Bill and Henry Pine discuss how easy it is to fall into empty religious habits, using the story of Al Ferguson as an example. Al, a troubled Christian in Naughty Pine, grows frustrated with the repeated, unthinking words of prayer meetings and decides to question people about how and why they pray. At the church picnic he speaks bluntly with Elder John Stone and others, earning resentment and little agreement. Then a sudden storm sends the picnickers into a cave, which collapses at its mouth and traps the group inside. Ranger Bill and Stumpy Jones, a Ranger Bill series episode, is narrated in the Ranger Bill style. Ranger Bill is a Ranger and the program is a 1961 episode aired February 22.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
