What happens

Tommy Marlow, Tate College's star football player, learns that he has failed his astronomy exam just before a big game against Colton. Pat Bingham, his fiancée, is upset, and her cousin Connie Lane is asked to tutor him. Connie and Tommy study together behind the chemistry laboratory, and their evening together leads to unexpected feelings between them. Tommy's roommate Bobby Randall and Pat's concerns about their own relationships add to the tangle as the big game approaches. This episode of the Railroad Hour presents a musical adaptation of the Broadway musical Good News, with Gordon MacRae, Dinah Shore and Jane Powell in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
