What happens

In Manila in 1942, three Filipino resistance members, Juan, Rafael and Lupo, watch a Japanese-occupied city and gather intelligence against the occupiers. The Japanese use hostages and reprisals against those who resist, and the underground moves its radio equipment across the islands to avoid capture. The story follows the growing network of Filipino fighters, their sabotage, and the Japanese attempts to win the population over with propaganda and offers of collaboration. This episode of The Pacific Story, first broadcast on NBC on November 5, 1944, is a dramatized account of the Filipino underground during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
