What happens
This installment of The Pacific Story traces the long history of Korea's dealings with Japan, from Hideyoshi's invasion of 1592 through the treaties and diplomatic pressure of the early 1900s. It describes the 1895 murder of Queen Min Song by Japanese agents and the avenger Kim Ku's later pursuit of Captain Tsuchida. It then covers Japan's forced acquisition of Korean sovereignty, the bloodshed of the 1910 annexation period, and the 1919 Declaration of Independence signed by thirty-three Koreans. The account ends in the present day, with Korean patriots said to be ready to act against Japanese war industries.
