Harry Lime, a swindler staying at a Swiss hotel, overhears the German industrialist Hans Crop planning to bribe a British United Nations official for plans on the industrialization of Western Europe. Crop asks Lime to act as go-between, and Lime's dealings with Crop and his daughter Frida draw the two men into a scheme involving a sum of 30,000 pounds. Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
