What happens

Namo Mamoulian, a woman traveling with her fiancé Richard Bair, lands at Algiers and is drawn into the Casbah, the city's native quarter. There she meets Pépé le Moko, a fugitive from France who has evaded the local police for two years. Inspector Slimane, who is hunting him, watches her movements closely. The Campbell Playhouse adaptation of Algiers, from the Walter Wanger production, was broadcast on The Mercury Theatre on the Air, with Orson Welles as host and Pollard Goddard as the guest star.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
