What happens

Dr. Richard Dale travels to a remote stone house to visit his former professor, Clark, who has invited him with a promised surprise. Clark's assistant Barton is there, along with Alpha, a metal man-made robot built by the professor. Dale is shown Alpha and told that the professor has another, even greater surprise for him. Later that night, Dale is awakened by a cry and finds Clark dead inside the locked laboratory. Dale is left to face a disturbing decision about what to do with the machines and the tragedy.

A remote stone house in the woods, with a large laboratory full of strange scientific equipment, in a rural area near a state penitentiary.

Characters: Dr. Richard Dale, Professor Clark, Barton, Alpha, Sheriff Ramsey

Listen for: Listen for the reveal of Alpha, the metal man, and Dale's growing unease about the professor's work and the surprise he has been promised.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
