What happens

Gordon Ormsby, a wealthy man who resents his wife Helen's money, has poisoned her and made it look like suicide. After her death he inherits her fortune, but a mysterious stranger keeps appearing to him, seeming to know everything he has done. Gordon struggles with his nerves and his guilt as he flees by car, and the stranger pursues him through the night. Murder at Midnight is a radio mystery series, and this episode is titled Wherever I Go. The transcript covers only part of the story, so the full outcome is not included here.

An old country mansion and later a hotel and the open road in the countryside.

Characters: Gordon Ormsby, Helen Ormsby, Dr. Samson, Blind Ned, The Stranger

Listen for: Gordon's wife Helen insisting on a headache cure and Gordon's plan to poison her, and the mysterious stranger who keeps appearing.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
