What happens
Richard Nugent, a painter-about-town, is swept into a legal tangle after a nightclub brawl, and Judge Margaret Turner's younger sister Susan, a high school student and newspaper editor, becomes infatuated with him. Presented on the Lux Radio Theatre, this 1949 broadcast adapts RKO's romantic comedy The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer, with Cary Grant as Richard and Shirley Temple as Susan. Richard is ordered to play along with Susan's crush, and he agrees to take her out on dates. The story follows the awkward results of that arrangement as the two spend time together, with Susan's hopes growing while Richard tries to keep matters proper.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
