What happens

In 1947 Shanghai, a black market pilot named Brad Dunham flies contraband goods into the city, where inflation has made food almost unaffordable. After a fellow flier, Ellis, is found dead, Brad meets Linda Arnold, a social worker at a settlement house, and reunites with an old war buddy, newspaper reporter Mark Andrews, who has begun a campaign against the black market. The Lux Radio Theatre production of Intrigue, adapted from the 1947 film, stars George Raft and June Havoc, and was broadcast on May 10, 1948.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
