What happens
Jim Gardner, an oil man in the booming Oklahoma fields, meets Catherine Allen, a novelist-schoolteacher who has been run out of Cleveland over her books. Stranded at a small station when their train leaves early, the two spar and begin to fall for each other. Gardner hires a cowboy, Dan Summers, as his bodyguard, and a rival named Dalton tries to have him attacked at a nightclub. The episode is adapted from the Republic Pictures film In Old Oklahoma, and this Lux Radio Theatre broadcast stars Martha Scott as Catherine, Albert Decker as Jim and Roy Rogers as Dan. Gardner's bid for Indian land and the complications around it take the story further.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
