What happens
Barnacle Bill, a boisterous old sea captain played by Wallace Beery, returns to port after a failed voyage and renews his acquaintance with Marge Cavendish, a sharp-tongued woman he owes money to. His daughter Virginia, whom he has not seen in years, arrives from the East and wants to stay with him, while Marge fears Bill's debts will drag her into trouble. Marjorie Main plays Marge, with Noah Beery as Adam Kelly, the wholesale fish dealer who undercuts the local fishermen. The story unfolds in the fishing town's boatyard, parlor and dockside, with the men of the harbor pressing for their pay.
A fishing town on the Pacific coast of California, around the boatyard, Marge's home, and the harbor docks.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
