What happens
George Burns and Gracie Allen star as Jim and Jane Cougatt, a married couple whose ordinary morning routine quickly turns into a comedy of errors. Jim is hoping to become vice president of the Fidelity Bank and Trust Company, while Jane tries to help his career along, often with unexpected results. The broadcast is part of the Lux Radio Theatre series, which aired on 1943-02-15. Jane's well-meaning efforts involve a sudden illness, a mix-up over medicine, and a worrying real estate purchase, while Jim's rival at the bank, Chuck Rayleigh, watches the promotion race closely. The story follows the couple as tensions rise between them and both of their plans begin to run into trouble.
Present-day Hollywood-era small city; the Cougatts' home and the Fidelity Bank and Trust Company, with a country club dance as a later scene.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
