What happens
Johnny Jamison, a traveling salesman from the East, arrives in the Colorado town of Epitaph, where he runs afoul of Kit Bishop, a young deputy marshal eager to see the town's new railroad through to Tomahawk. Her grandfather, Mr. Bishop, is the ticket agent and a driving force behind the railroad's franchise deadline, and the two must unite despite their clashing views. The Lux Radio Theatre production, broadcast on June 4, 1951, stars Dan Bailey and Anne Baxter, and it presents the Western as a light comedy rather than a serious epic. The episode opens with the town in turmoil over the railroad and the locals' hostility toward the newcomer.

Listen for: The comic banter between Johnny Jamison and Kit Bishop as they sort out their differences over the railroad.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
