What happens
Nora Helmer, a young wife in a Norwegian town in 1890, secretly borrowed money years earlier to fund a trip to Italy that saved her ailing husband Torvald's health. Now Krogstad, the clerk who arranged the loan, threatens to expose her forgery unless she intercedes to keep his bank position. Nora's attempts to persuade Torvald reveal his rigid views on debt and honesty. This Lux Radio Theatre presentation of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House, broadcast on June 6, 1938, stars Joan Crawford as Nora and Basil Rathbone as Torvald, with Sam Jaffe as Krogstad and Netta Harrigan as Mrs. Linden.
A small town in Norway in 1890, in the Helmer household and in Krogstad's office, over Christmas.
Characters: Nora Helmer, Torvald Helmer, Krogstad, Mrs. Linden, Dr. Rank, Ellen

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
