What happens

Jerry of the circus receives a telegram about a safety deposit box left by his late father, Timothy Doogan, and learns it holds a deed to forty acres of land in Montana. Meanwhile, the circus horse Splendor has fallen seriously ill with pneumonia, and Jerry hurries to help the stable boss, Whitey, who is doing all he can for the animal. Jerry comes up with the idea of warming the blankets and bringing the mare Lady close by, and he sits with the sick colt while the adults attend to other business.

A traveling circus in winter quarters, with the horse top and the office wagon.

Characters: Jerry, Whitey, Mr. Randall, Splendor, Lady, Bump, Mr. Grayson

Listen for: Jerry's telegram about the forty acres in Montana, and the warming of the blankets for the sick horse Splendor.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
