What happens

At a circus, the strongman Belko asks Patsy to dinner, and she accepts. Jerry overhears their conversation from behind some boxes and worries that Belko is not a suitable companion for Patsy. Jerry and Major discuss a fortune teller's warning that Patsy is in danger from a big man. Major resolves to trail Belko and find out what he is really like before Patsy comes to harm. Jerry, a young acrobat in the circus, is caught up in their scheme as they plan to watch Belko closely that evening.

A circus, including its backstage area, the performers' wagons and the main entrance, during a single day and evening.

Characters: Jerry, Belko, Patsy, Major, Mr. Randall, Bumps, Rosa Ratci, Joey

Listen for: Jerry and Major's plan to follow Belko after the show, and Major's account of the fortune teller's warning.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
