What happens

Jerry and Dick Grayson's lawyer friend Dick is visited at his office by a man who says he is Dick's father, Johnny Bradley, passing through town on business. Dick is delighted, but the visit is short, and the father leaves quickly after pressing a hundred dollars on his son. Later Jerry hears from Dick that the father is a circus trouper of modest means, and Dick says he will keep quiet about it so the old man is not embarrassed. The episode is part of the Jerry of the Circus series and first aired on August 19, 1937.

A lawyer's office in Jackson City, and later a circus lot where the show is set up.

Characters: Jerry, Dick Grayson, Johnny Bradley, Miss James, Sally, Mr. Randall

Listen for: Dick's reaction after his father leaves, and how he explains the old man's situation to Jerry.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
