What happens
In a remote cottage in rural New England, Ellen Richards lives in fear and seclusion, her nervous nephew Leslie Richards at her side along with his companion Barbara Morrow. Ellen insists she must never leave the house, and Leslie begins to uncover troubling secrets about her past and about the disappearance of her husband, Gregory. Strange sounds in the house and a hidden trapdoor in the living room draw Leslie and Barbara into a dark family history. The episode is an Inner Sanctum Mysteries broadcast, first aired on July 20, 1952.
