What happens

Mark Stripling, a fugitive wanted for murder, is hunted through the Central American border town where he hides, and the trail leads toward a Guatemalan mountain. Maxine, a woman he meets in a club, blackmails him with a photograph and recruits him to find Teacher Jonas, a reclusive former oil millionaire who has climbed Monte Muerto with his fortune. Wiley Scott, a pilot, has sold them the map, and a local guide named Stefano joins the expedition. Mark and Maxine push up the mountain through wind, heat and peril, uneasy about who else is following them. The episode is part of the Inner Sanctum Mysteries series, which first aired on January 9, 1950.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
