What happens

Britt Reid, the publisher who secretly works as the Green Hornet, and his valet Kato stop two men attacking a courier and take a briefcase of sealed Spanish papers. Oliver Perry, a famous detective who suspects Reid of being the Hornet, watches him closely. Mr. Mendoza, a South American diplomat, asks Reid to recover the lost papers before anyone learns they are missing. Reid agrees to help the diplomats while Perry remains suspicious, and the story turns on the tension between Reid's double life and Perry's watchfulness.

A city at night and the following day, including Britt Reid's apartment, a consulate, and a downtown hotel.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
