What happens

Reporter Mike Axford works at the newspaper office of Mr. Reed, where he and Miss Case discuss Jonathan Derrick, a mysterious man who gives advice to wealthy women. Derrick meets with businessman Henry Mason and offers to reveal a secret real estate plan for a thousand dollars, then demands three thousand. Mason pays him in cash and later learns that Derrick claims the Green Hornet supplied the information. Mason worries that his plans have leaked and that he will be blackmailed again. Reed decides to investigate further, and the Green Hornet and Kato begin tracking Derrick and his associates that night.

A city newspaper office and the city club, with later scenes at Derrick's apartment in the city at night.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
