What happens

Brit Reid, a newspaper editor, and his secretary Lois Lane investigate a fatal roller coaster accident at the Devil's Playground amusement park. The Sentinel newspaper has collected signed statements blaming the crash on the park's owner, Durkin, and inspector Buckley. When the statements are stolen, the paper faces a libel suit, and Reid turns to the Green Hornet. The Green Hornet, an adventurer, works to recover the evidence and force the truth into the open. This recording is part of The Green Hornet radio series, first aired on July 11, 1939.

A carnival amusement park with a roller coaster called the Devil's Dipper, and the offices of the Daily Sentinel newspaper in a city.

Characters: Brit Reid, Lois Lane, Kato, Durkin, Scanlon, Buckley, Thomas, Mike Axford

Listen for: The stolen witness statements and the libel suit against the Sentinel, and how the Green Hornet confronts the witness Thomas on the roller coaster.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
