What happens
Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, pursues the story of Andrew Blake, a respected civic figure who is reported to have fled from police after a hit-and-run. Blake insists he was robbed and knocked unconscious in a parking lot, and he threatens the newspaper with a lawsuit. Reid and his secretary Miss Case begin looking into Blake's background, and a dispute over a traffic light patent leads them toward Councilman Wiggins. Reid's staff, including Gunnegan and Laurie, follow the trail to a planned meeting at the Manhattan Club, where a payoff is expected. The series is The Green Hornet, first broadcast on April 8, 1947.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
