What happens

A badly frightened man visits a quick-shock analyst, complaining of a hallucination that is getting worse and interfering with his work. The analyst puts him into a state of semi-sleep and questions him about the images he sees, probing for memories of a past event and asking about radiation exposure and fear of bombing. Fragments of a family running across a field and a figure who was injured come up during the session. The session turns toward the idea that the man has been sent back from the future, and the analyst suggests that a dream of the future can be acted upon rather than accepted as fixed.

An analyst's office, where a patient is questioned under a semi-sleep state about a recurring hallucination.

Characters: Analyst, Patient

Listen for: The analyst's questions about the patient's memories and the idea of having been sent back from the future.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
