What happens
Isherwood Williams, the last human survivor of a plague that has emptied the earth, shares his life with his wife M and their baby as they scavenge the ruined city of San Francisco. Three years after his return, a fire and a gas leak nearly kill them, and they meet Ezra and his adopted daughter Eileen. Escape presents this adaptation of George Stewart's novel Earth Abides, with John Dehner starring as Isherwood Williams and Peggy Webber as M. The original broadcast aired on November 12, 1950. As a small community forms around them, disease, hardship and rough newcomers test their hopes of rebuilding mankind.
