What happens
Toby Manning, a frustrated mining machinery salesman in Panama, takes a three-week break and falls in with Manuel Vargas, a former revolutionary who claims to know where a fortune in buried gold lies in Mexico. Vargas describes a train robbery and a shipment of gold hidden by General Lara's men, and Toby agrees to join him. Shots in the night hint that someone else knows of the treasure. Later, on a train to Durango, Toby meets Consuelo, a Mexican woman who claims to be Lara's daughter and a share of the gold. The Escape series, first aired in 1949 with Victor Mature in the lead, presents this episode from its original broadcast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
