What happens
Patience, a member of a local singing group, hears a prowler in her bedroom while she talks on the phone with Jenny Jenkins. Her husband, Deputy Sheriff Eli Jenkins, takes charge of the investigation and questions the group, who gather in his parlor. The group rehearses between interruptions, and Eli insists on running the inquiry by the book. The episode follows the gathering as the members try to sing while the intruder is traced and questioned.
A small town down our way, mostly in the Jenkins home, with a trip to Cliff's gas station upstairs apartment and a visit to Miss Wilson's house.
Characters: Patience, Jenny Jenkins, Eli Jenkins, Ben, Alice Wilson, Cliff, Bob Agnew
Listen for: Eli's formal questioning of the group, the group's singing practice interrupted by the investigation, and the arrival of the young intruder at the parlor.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
