What happens
Keith Grange has been acquitted of killing Philip Blake, whom he shot in self-defense after a quarrel over Sylvia, Blake's wife. Grange, now living in a new home, is troubled by the feeling that Blake is not truly gone. Sylvia becomes frightened when a ring she gave Blake turns up as a gift to her. Grange's guests arrive at a masquerade ball, and a figure in black keeps watching Sylvia. Grange confronts a strange presence in his study. The episode is part of the Dark Fantasy series, first broadcast on November 14, 1941, with Ben Morris as Keith Grange and Eleanor Audley as Sylvia. The story continues as Grange and Sylvia struggle with the unexplained events around them.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
