What happens
Captain Roy Dalton and his first mate George Wainwright prepare the whaler Paul Parrot for a voyage out of New Bedford in 1858. After a Spanish stranger attacked them on the docks, they visit shipkeeper Breckenridge to learn who the man might be. Breckenridge recognizes the description and points them to a dock agent working for the Sylvan Company. Meanwhile, Suzanne Grange, called Sue, insists she will sail on a whaler despite objections from the men. The episode is part of the Cruise of the Poll Parrot series, first broadcast on October 2, 1937.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
