What happens

Bill Stern hosts the Colgate Sports Newsreel from Baltimore, Maryland, on October 24, 1942, where Navy football coach Commander John Welsh talks about his team's loss to Georgia Tech that afternoon. The program also covers a round-up of college football scores from around the country and short sports stories. Welsh says Navy fought hard, that Georgia Tech's interception and 92-yard return for the first touchdown decided the game, and he congratulates the winning team. Other segments include a profile of boxers Max Schmeling and Primo Carnera, who are said to have been kept from fighting each other, and a story about a Vienna technical school student who invented pole vaulting.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
